Emergency pregnancy warning signs: bleeding, pain, blood pressure, and when to get help
Some pregnancy symptoms should not become a Google spiral. CDC's urgent maternal warning signs include severe headache, dizziness or fainting, vision changes, fever, extreme swelling, thoughts of self-harm or harming the baby, trouble breathing, chest pain, severe nausea or vomiting, severe belly pain, slowed or stopped baby movement, vaginal bleeding or leaking fluid, and severe swelling or pain in a limb.
Use this simple rule
- If the symptom is severe, sudden, worsening, or feels unsafe, seek immediate medical care.
- If you are pregnant or gave birth within the last year, tell the provider immediately.
- If you feel something is not right, do not wait for it to become dramatic.
APYVA can help organize pregnancy care, but urgent symptoms need emergency or immediate medical attention.
